lyrics
Borrowed Time
My names DC I'm a young hip hop artist/
Ill explain why the beat is where my heart is/
Musics my saviour its the reason im here/
It save my life once or twice, defeated fear/
Gave me a step up when I wanted to step down/
I thought I'd solve my issues being 6 feet in the ground/
Im glad I didn't, it's the wrong way to deal with it/
The scene I fitted & the mic I still kill it/
I found my way, I took my place/
Beat and the lyrics filled the deep dark space/
It all started back in 2011/
Thats when people started leavin and they're going to heaven/
Firstly was Brayden Teggerth, 26th of December/
Best mates gone, I'll always remember/
At the same time dads mum was in a coma/
A week later then her life was over/
It was fucked up, by then i was struggling/
My way to cope was weed, always had the bong bubbling/
It numbed me, being blazed kept me sane/
Little did I know it was fucking my brain/
Early 2012 a third life passed/
R.I.P. Nicola thank fuck its the last/
Got off the drugs and had my girl for support/
It was a struggle I pushed through and I fought/
I was grateful she was there help me through/
When she left I didnt know what to do/
The pain came back and it was doubling up/
The way I knew to deal with was getting back on the drugs/
I didnt like the sound of it, damn sure not proud of it/
But the only time I was happy was when i was asleep or out of it/
It was a bad few months and it still ain't the best/
But i feel its about time I got it all of my chest/
Chorus:
If only we knew we couldn't turn the clock back
If only we knew we couldnt turn back the clocks on our own walls
Can I change the past this'll be the last time that I'll ask
Can I borrow some of yours instead
Cause i rather live on borrowed time then no time at all
You better catch me on my downfall
Verse 2:
I starting writing tracks, thats where i focused my energy/
It all flowed naturally and seemed like its meant to be/
It gave me a reason, showed me my purpose/
Well never stop till the whole world has heard us/
I was in too deep but now I've resurfaced/
Its the instruments that are doing me a service/
Its a tough mission but it can be completed/
Theres always a way when your feeling depleted/
Never let anything crush your dreams/
I wont be another who passed away at 18/
I got my life ahead of me, I'll live life steadily/
We have our escapes but music is my remedy/
I pushed through and now I say I stand strong/
Took a huge leap and now I can say no to bongs/
I just dont need it, stand undefeated/
And now I'm prepared if it ever gets repeated/
We cant turn back clocks, we don't have to/
Just wait it out till the good mood grabs you/
Best believe me I know its a challenge/
But push through the pain and anything can happen/
Follow your dreams, make the most, demand it/
You gotta get it youself, it aint just handed/
Thats the aim of life yer thats just the standard/
But life never goes like we planned it/
Theres always a way to make the world seem better/
Like mine is beats and writing lyrical letters/
Whatever it is man you cant just ignore it/
Accept the pain and be thankful for it/
Cause you cant have happiness without pain/
Take it all in and develop your brain/
So next time you feel emotionally strained/
Stay strong through the struggle cause theres more to be gained/
